Sean at an early age of 2 years and 4 months has already a clear notion of Christmas and Christmas gifts and Santa Claus. Just today he was talking to me and he said, “MOmmy Santa Claus will come to our house”. “I want gifts!”. “I want an airplane, a car, a boat, a ship and a Barney.” And I replied to him, “Ok, Santa Claus will give you gifts if and only if you are a good boy.” At a young age he can understand that Christmas time is about giving and receiving. As much as possible I want to instill in their minds the virtuous act of giving and not only Christmas is about receiving. So some of their toys will go to Pinas to be given to their cousins.And I was smiling at the thought that he want to ask a lot of toys from Santa Clause, talk of hoarding and that’s another issue for them, for my kids, as much as possible I want them to grow up having less material things for them to realize that those things really don’t matter. I want them to have happy lives. I want them to be contented for what they have and I want them to value the things that they only have and not to ask too much. I want them to be good human beings. I pity those kids who lacked discipline, those kids who are nasty, rude and brutal on other kids and most of all I hate kids that are liars and those who inflict emotional, psychological and physical pains to my kids.So this Christmas, Sean and his older sister will learn a lot of things. And I told them that Santa Claus will not come to tour home if they’ll not be good. SO to those other kids I’m not be giving gifts to those who showed bad behaviors better be lucky next Christmas, so there, there’s still a room for you but not this coming Christmas.

The Chatterbox

Lately my 2 years old and two months son was so talkative. Endlessly he would start a conversation with me then I would respond and then he would converse with the daddy then his sister. And sometimes I would eavesdrop on him while he would talk to his toys in the play room or I guess he has an imaginary friend. My daughter at his age was the same too the only difference is my son can talk straight while Andrea can’t say the words straight. But she was a nonstop blabber too.

And from time to time Sean would remind us that he’s a big boy already and not to address him as a baby. He loves talking and sometimes you can hear him humming to a tune of Disney princess songs or how about the tune of the Barbie as the Island Princess or his feet would start to tap to the upbeat tune of the Backyardigans songs.

If he doesn’t want something he would say “I don’t like that!” He’s using the words that, this and there. And when it comes to color recognition sometimes if he’s not in the mood every color you’ve ask him comes in as green. But for now his new favorite color is purple. He can count from 1 to 7 and sometimes you’ll hear him talk the phonetics lesson that I’m teaching my 4 year old daughter. So he’s listening attentively to mommy.

From time to time he would remind us his love by telling us “I love you mommy”, “I love you daddy, “I love you ate!” He’s so sweet. He’d give you a wet smack on the lips or how about the wet kiss. Even at our friends he’s also sweet.

In the kitchen while preparing for our meals I can count on him by putting his plate and his plastic cup. If I need something just ask him like a lost cell phone or keys and he’ll retrieve it for you. He’s the one who hid it somewhere and you can see him always with his superman backpack and with all his favorite toys inside it.

If mommy wants a hug and a kiss just ask him and happily he would give me. I’m just proud to be a mom of Sean Linus.

Airplane Fanatic

Sean loves to play and watch airplanes. I let him watch lots of videos in You Tube on airplanes as they take off, run the runway, or land. He’s so ecstatic whenever he’ll see an airplane on the air while we are outdoors. And i wonder why and how he has this fascination or rather obsession with airplanes.

The last time that Dad Yam was here in the house he asked an airplane from him and Dad Yam as sweet as he is complied at once. He has also another airplane a gfit on his birthday and now he’s saying that he wants a colored green airplane.

And while we are eating he would also play sometimes with his food, like he’ll hold a chicken in his hand and with a sound he’ll imagine that it’s an airplane and flying on the air.

NOw, I’m making a runway for his airplanes. I have those two idle cardboards from his sister’s gift box and i’m going to paint them to make them look like a runway. Oh, maybe he wants to be a pilot someday, not bad! Love yah Sean!

Meet the Grumpy!

We were in Villagio Mall last Wednesday and on our way to the food court there’s a toddler, a girl maybe of the same age of Sean. And here’s the conversation that occured:

Girl: Oh, a baby (while pointing to Sean)

Sean: No! (with a loud voice) Me, Sean!

Girl: No!

Sean: No!

At his age of 2 years and 2 months, the least thing that you would do is call him a baby or else he’ll be in the bad mood. You should always address him in his first name, Sean.

On Birthdays and Gifts

Our little boy turned two and he had a blast playing with the balloons for more than 3o minutes while waiting for the visitors in Burger King and after that he had fallen asleep nearly to the end of the games that I had to wake him up or else his older sister would blow the candle for him.

He was happy and after regaining his strength from a slumber he was a bit confused as to how the number of visitors in the party room have increased. Birthday party for him maybe still vague it maybe incomprehensible for a two year old but what he understand is the feeling of happiness, the warmth of family and friends hugs and sweet kisses and the sight of a birthday cake and the balloons and of course the blowing of candles even it’s the mommy who has to say in her head some wishes for the birthday boy.

Birthday parties is not about gifts or how grand or how simple it was celebrated but its more of the feelings of happiness being passed from one to another. It’s a celebration for another year and the years to come. It’s about family, its about friends and how they have remembered our little boy in his special day. His godparents across the globe sent their love thru greetings on e-mails, text messages, YM and phone calls. His grandparents in the Philippines had thrown also a small party for friends and relatives for their adorable grandson. And that’s how much we love Sean Linus, our prince.

He received lots of gifts from us and from our friends. His sister helped him in opening the gifts, amidst tearing every gift wraps they exchanged gigles and laughters. The hit among his gifts is the talking Tyrone from our friends Tito X-tian and Tita Mavis and the Barney Puppet from Uncle Noy.

Thanks to all our friends who calebrated with us. Thanks for another year and the years to come and most of all Thanks Daddy God for the gift of Love and the gift of Life.
